-Reader's Notebook #2 "Goal #1": Take a minute and count how many pages in your book you just read in the last 15 minutes of silent reading. Then take that number and multiply it by 8. Write that number down in this notebook entry. This is your first reading goal of the year. Now reflect on it by writing at least 10 sentences responding to the following questions: Does the number you came up with for your weekly goal surprise you? Why or why not? Do you feel as if your goal is feasible? Explain. What are you going to do to ensure that you fit in the required 70 minutes of outside of class weekly reading for this unit?
